Working Gili Ponies are mistreated every day
Why don't tourists care about the Gili Ponies?
But you can help Love Heal Animals make a difference!
In early 2019, Love Heal Animals will continue our work with unwavering focus to open the Gili Ponies Sanctuary. Our Sanctuary will provide these hard working ponies rest and respite that they so desparately need.
Imagine having to wait 6 months to see a doctor…
As an experienced horse owner I was absolutely horrified when first visited Gili Trawangan - at that time, I (ignorantly) had no idea that the only form of transport was by hardworking ponies; and had I known I probably wouldn't have gone.
'Healing Gili Ponies' - Go Fund Me campaign
Woo Hoo - Whoop Whoop !!! We can’t wait to travel again to the Gili Islands NEXT WEEK! - The “all Volunteer” Vet and Farrier clinic is happening again - PLEASE- we need YOUR help so WE can HELP these hard-working, stoic ponies who endure so much on a daily basis.
Our Hearts broke - Gili Ponies
‘Healing Gili Ponies' is Love Heal Animals first project!
We are working towards securing land on Gili Trawangan to open our “Gili Ponies Sanctuary, building stables, day yards with shelters, and a sheltered area where the ponies can be provided with veterinary & farrier care.
Gili Ponies suffer while tourists do nothing!
“We witnessed really sad cases of ponies working with open wounds, horses left out in the sun waiting for passengers with no access to water, horses severely dehydrated & panting heavily, with white foam pouring out of their mouths.”
The Story of Danda
Tourists inadvertently promote the abuse of Gili Ponies who are literally getting worked to death on their behalf.
Love Heal Animals Charity is born!
Meet Danda. Danda has been working with a bone infection due to previous ill-fitting shoes where a nail was driven into the wrong part of his hoof.
Two years ago, I was visiting the Gili Islands. I was there to complete my Yoga Teacher Training and became very distracted as I witnessed the poor state of the working ponies.
